Following the government guidelines relating to COVID-19 issued on 23rd March 2020 and further supported by the statement issued by the UKMDA on the 25th March 2020 https://ukmda.org.uk/news-alert/urgent-ukmda-coronavirus-statement-25-march-2020 , I can confirm that we took the decision to act on this and have put in place the necessary steps to remove all of our site operatives from our current sites by the close of play yesterday – 26th March 2020. We have been working on this measure since Tuesday and our primary function today will be to leave the sites in a condition where our works have been protected and safe for others.
On reviewing the current situation in detail, we feel the current site conditions and the nature of our works does not allow us to maintain the government instructions. This decision has been taken in line with our business values and is in the best interest of our staff, clients, supply chain and the general public.
You have our full commitment that we will be remobilising at the soonest opportunity to continue our works when the current situation improves to make our operations safe.
I would like to sincerely thank our staff, customers and supply chain for their flexibility and positive response to the upheaval and disruption this event has caused. In the coming weeks we will adapt the business and our operations to reflect the everchanging conditions and demands, I would ask for your continued patience and understanding.
During this period your primary contacts will be continuing to work on your contracts from home and can be reached on their normal emails or alternatively, please contact me directly on email@example.com
Finally, we at SMD send our best wishes to you all at this difficult time.
