The new home of the Midlands Logistics Centre (MLC) has undergone a huge transformation since the start of 2016, with the whole building undergoing a major overhaul and in some cases a complete re-build!
May 2016 saw the completion of works at our new Nunn Brook Rise home. Enduring many hours and more of sweat, blood & tears than we first expected, the new premises comprises of all our requirements we wanted the site to provide. The build included a complete overhaul of the electrics and data networking, brand new heating system, replacement of walls, new stair way, painted & carpeted throughout!
The office area comprises of a reception area, large kitchen / diner / breakout room, meeting and conference room, two large office areas to facilitate up to an additional 10 staff, three private offices, staff and visitor toilets, files archive store and a dedicated large training room to improve the delivery of training courses to both SMD staff and external companies.
The main warehouse has been built up mostly from the storage and stock items from the old Marchington unit. The huge internal floor space improves the access and storage area providing plenty of additional space for the warehouse staff to undertake their daily tasks with plenty of room.
We are very proud of what we have achieved with this one-off project and believe it represents the SMD brand and business very well as a regional base and logistics centre.
