SMD SR roof products can be provided with the webs or flanges partially perforated. When used with a layer of acoustic insulation as part of the site-assembled double skin system this provides sound absorption and reduces reverberation from noise within the internal space.

The structural properties for perforated profiles are lower than that for the standard products.
Enhancing Acoustic Performance with AIM Acoustic Infills
For more details on filler blocks, take a look at this case study from AIM at the Hartlepool Hub:
In this project, acoustic trough fillers were installed in conjunction with perforated roof decking to significantly reduce noise transmission. These fillers are designed to fit within the troughs of the deck, offering effective sound absorption without compromising structural integrity. AIM also provides profile fillers, which are ideal for acoustic treatment at wall separation details—such as above walls and beams—helping to manage airborne sound at critical junctions. To address noise control in industrial, commercial, or educational buildings, these acoustic infills are an effective solution.
