The concrete mix design must be suitable for the intended method of installation (e.g. pumpable) and finishing. Concrete with a minimum consistence class of S3 should be utilised, in accordance with BS 8500.
The mix design should be prepared in accordance with the strength class, maximum water/cement ratio and minimum cement content specified the engineer. The concrete contractors proposed mix design must be approved by the engineer prior to commencement of concrete placement works.
