Where sheet length restrictions mean a double span sheet is not possible, it is possible to provide extended overlaps at the junction of two single span sheets (>10% of span either side of support) to create an effective double span; Refer to Fig. 8.5a.
Although this is technically suitable as a detail, it is not recommended for practical reasons (ie. less economical, difficult to install, requires more detailed fixing configuration with additional fixings in webs of sheets).
