April saw testing of the suitability of gas nails and the use of the HILTI GX-3 tool at Lincoln University. The test saw positive results with its use currently being evaluated.
The technical data from the fixings and testing is currently being assessed, and if deemed suitable, will result in a change to gas nails for beams where in the past the ‘DAK’ fixing was used.
The gun will continue to be used over a period of time to assess the gun quality and durability over long periods before we consider rolling this out across the entire team of operatives.
